Real Weddings | Mr & Mrs Green | Chesterfield

A day so nice, they did it twice!

Emma and Ashley were legally married in 2021 with just close friends and family as witnesses due to the pandemic. Fast-forward a year later and they were back at their dreamy venue, the glorious Van Dyk by Wildes, Chesterfield for their big family celebration and I had the honour of writing and officiating a bespoke ceremony for them. Here is their real celebrant wedding!

Although we had planned to hold the ceremony in the tranquil walled garden, light rain led us to move the event indoors. Nevertheless, our indoor location was beautifully decorated with angelic touches and bright lighting.

Emma, the bride, along with her father and bridesmaids, walked down the candlelit aisle while Ruelle's "I Get to Love You" played in the background... creating the perfect atmosphere for their bespoke ceremony.

The heart of their one of a kind script spoke about the unity of everyone being brought together by their love, modern thoughts on marriage, quotes from their favourite musicals and, of course, their love story.

Emma and Ashley wanted their readings to be truly unique and tailored to their relationship. The first was a bespoke poem, which recounted their journey from their meet-cute to their wedding day. The second reading was inspired by their favourite films (Avengers) and musicals they’d been to see (Jersey Boys and Mamma Mia), making a perfect connection to different chapters of their story.

After they exchanged rings, the bride and groom read aloud their handwritten vows, which were beautifully written with deep emotion and love. After they were reintroduced as husband and wife (with so much applause and cheer!), they signed a decorative certificate to complete their ceremony.

Two close family friends were selected to sign, and their beautiful son was also given a special role, sitting proudly between his parents in the spotlight.

Writing and officiating Mr. and Mrs. Green's ceremony was a lovely experience. The room was filled with love, and the script was a perfect blend of modern and traditional ideas, bursting with personality.

Congratulations again you two!!
