Naomi and Alex exchanged vows on a picturesque, sun-soaked day at the Peak Edge Hotel in Chesterfield. This charming boutique hotel boasts breathtaking rural views and an abundance of natural light. As soon as I stepped into the exquisitely decorated ceremony room, I was captivated by the serene yet joyful atmosphere.
My initial interaction with this lovely couple was when they were searching for a celebrant for their post-pandemic wedding. Due to restrictions, they had already had a small ceremony and legally tied the knot the previous year.
In the meantime, they'd welcomed their little girl into the world and she had a very important role in the ceremony.
As the ceremony began, all attendees were asked to silence their phones. In a nod to Alex's love of football, we decided to add a playful touch by using a red card as a warning to anyone who might break the rule. Kicking off the ceremony with a fun twist.
With the administration officially wrapped up, it was time for the real show-stoppers to take the stage! The page boys, flower girls, bridesmaids, and of course, the gorgeous Naomi and her father, made their grand entrance.
Crafted with care to reflect the couple's personalities, the ceremony was tailored to their preferences – one of the many benefits of a celebrant wedding. The occasion was filled with laughter, snippets of their love story, romance, and personal reflections on marriage.
Their readings were:
The Art of Marriage, by Wilfred Arlan, given by one of their bridesmaids.
A personalised poem, detailing their love story from first meeting to their wedding day. This was written by myself (Meg Stanier Celebrant) and read by one of their groomsmen.
As always, the readers did superb job!
After the couple exchanged their personal, handwritten vows, their daughter took the stage to steal the show for a little while. With the assistance of one of her father's groomsmen, she carried the rings to her parents in a heartwarming moment.
Now their guests were reminded of their love story, their vows read and rings exchanged, the couple opted for a decorative certificate to sign with their Mother's acting as witnesses.
With that, there was only one thing left to do!
CELEBRATE!!
Naomi and Alex had a ceremony that was uniquely tailored to their preferences, with an ideal balance of traditional and personal touches. The involvement of their family, friends, and daughter made it an incredibly heartwarming and family-oriented event. Congrats again you two!
