Amongst a vibrant sea of pink florals and decor, Emma and Andy celebrated their love in July last year at the Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle Quayside. They exchanged their vows during a fabulous ceremony that highlighted all of their favourite things in life: football, music, and, of course, their little family.
Their special day was filled with so many personal touches, from custom poetry gifts for their bridal party to involving their young sons in their big moment. It was a truly memorable occasion with their guests fully immersed in their fantastic day from the start.
Let's revisit the highlights from their bespoke celebrant ceremony...
Before we welcomed our bride, Emma, into the pretty pink room filled with their closest friends and family, we had a special, football-themed announcement and a surprise for one unsuspecting guest who was pre-chosen to be our 'ceremony referee.'

For their unplugged ceremony announcement, the couple decided to feature a "ceremony red card." We reviewed the match rules, stating that no one was allowed to use their phone during the ceremony. If someone did, our ceremony referee would issue the red card, and we joked that the penalty would require them to buy a drink for everyone in the room.
This got a big laugh, especially when we announced who the bride and groom had chosen to be their referee; their chosen family member took his job very seriously and had fun with it!

Emma made her grand entrance as "Sweetest Human Being Alive" by George Ezra played from the speakers. Being music lovers, we wove in some lyrics throughout the ceremony script. As we warmly welcomed their guests once more, we began to speak about why and how we all came to be celebrating today. We recited a line from Emma's aisle song, "Maybe we already met once before, another time, late night, same kids in a different time," connecting it to the idea that they found each other at just the right moment.
Leading beautifully into their love story, we told the tale of how they first met, crazy dance moves, and the journey they've shared since that moment, including growing a family from their love. Fun stories, match highlights and flashbacks to amazing memories as a family of four, meant guests could reminisce about Emma and Andy's incredible adventure so far.
To represent the strong bond their little family has, Andy and Emma decided to include a unity sand ceremony. They selected four colours of sand to represent themselves and their two young boys. Each family member poured their chosen sand into a larger, oval jar, signifying their everlasting togetherness and the love they share.
From one core memory to the next, we discussed their thoughts on marriage and family. With paraphrased lyrics inspired by Elton John, 'These gifts are my vows, and this one is for you,' we introduced their vows while keeping to the musical theme.
Once their beautiful, handwritten vows were read from a card with floral, pink details, it was time for the exchange of rings, and we had another special surprise for one guest...
They decided to have a surprise ring bearer, so before the ceremony, we hid the rings under a chair. The guest seated in this particular chair would be responsible for bringing the rings to the front. It was fantastic watching everyone checking under their chairs, and the result was the most adorable ring bearer!
With a bespoke poem to say 'I do' to, we introduced Mr and Mrs Wilson to their guests for the first time, cueing a huge round of applause! To conclude this memorable ceremony, we invited their sons to the front to sign a beautifully designed family certificate with pink and rose gold detail. Emma finally shares the same last name as her boys, making this moment, along with their sand ceremony, truly special for the family and all their guests there to witness.
Now that the sand was poured, the rings exchanged, and the family certificate signed... there was only one thing left to do! Announce the bar was open!
We reintroduced Mr and Mrs Wilson with a standing ovation and cheers, and they walked back down the aisle in celebration, ready to have the best day with all of their loved ones!
A fun-filled day for a fantastic family—congratulations again, MR AND MRS WILSON!
