You've discovered your dream home; it just needs a personal touch.
It's finally time for moving day and you feel a fantastic rush.
The first time unlocking the door, protected by brick and stone.
You'll find parts that you love, but surprises may be shown.
Stripping back the wallpaper and tearing up the floors,
Reveals the features of this home; you wonder what's in store.
Then you study its character, uncovering parts of history.
Breaking down the walls, you're peeling back the mystery.
Building from the foundations, slowly, it becomes your home.
Always there to return too, your perfect comfort zone.
To live in my real home is a total dream come true.
Yet, a part of me will always find home's wherever I'm with you.
Finding the love of my life is like discovering this old house.
From a hopeful beginning to becoming your loving spouse.
Filling our house with memories and creating new tales too.
Renovating our relationship and sharing my life with you.
The keys to our first moments, cementing a future from the unknown.
Now, just like your dream house, this person feels like home.

A wedding reading poem for couples who love to renovate houses, enjoy DIY, or simply love the home they share together. With intertwined metaphors throughout, this poem gives comparisons between buying a house and finding the love of your life.
Celebrant ceremony ideas
This poem would pair well with:
A sand ceremony: A beautiful way to symbolise your two lives coming together, you begin with choosing two colours, representing your two separate lives, and pour them into a separate jar to represent your lives coming together. Also a beautiful keepsake you can keep in your home.
Lock and Key: During the ceremony, you will both be presented with a lock and key; these locks will be linked together with the keys thrown away to represent your unbreakable bond.
Time since launch clock: A digital clock that counts on forever. You pull the pin during your first married kiss, starting the timer. This can be displayed in your home.
Bespoke vow cards/reading cards: Have your celebrant/stationer design your vow cards to suit your wedding theme; afterwards, they can be displayed in your house.
